Learn more about Liz

This retreat is set in a beautiful, finely renovated 17th century masseria (farmhouse), located a short distance from Martina Franca, a town halfway between the Adriatic and Ionic Sea. Immersed in the peaceful and tranquil Valle D’Itria countryside, the 14 acres property features: a manor house with several large common areas, a small church with original frescoes, an old stone barn that has been converted into a large and bright Yoga Shala, a private forest with meditation path, a swimming pool, and several areas to relax and meditate, including hammocks, poolside cabanas, outdoor lounges, and easy chairs under olive trees.

Learn more about the venue

Throughout the retreat we will indulge in delicious vegetarian cuisine based on the pH alkaline diet prepared with locally-sourced products and organic ingredients. We’ll have the opportunity to explore Southern Italy through several optional excursions showcasing the beauty of the area, including visits to local markets, olive oil farms, the famous Ceramics District in Grottalie, Bauxite caves on the Ionic seaside, the ancient town of Matera, and the famous white town of Ostuni, as well as hiking in Pianelle Forest.

Italy 2.0: About

Local Market in Martina Franca + visit to historic center & granita coffee experience (cost: ~30 Euros)

Matera (cost: ~85 Euros)
Full-day tour around the interesting and unusual ancient town of Matera, an old cave-dwelling district where hundreds of families lived in cave-houses until the 1950s. Made a UNESCO World Heritage site for being "the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the Mediterranean region, perfectly adapted to its terrain and ecosystem."

Ostuni Village (the famous white town) + Beach Adriatic seaside + Olive Oil Tasting (cost: ~75 Euros)
Full-day tour to visit Ostuni, one of Puglia's most beautiful white-washed cities. Take in incredible architecture surrounded by olive trees and the glistening Adriatic Sea. The beach is just 5 minutes from the village with excellent swimming.

Olive Oil Tasting
Stroll among age old olive trees, learn how olives become extra virgin olive oil, a centuries-old tradition for which Puglia is famous. Taste and learn to recognize a good quality olive oil as you explore many varieties available and purchase some of your favorites to take with you.

Hiking in the Natural Reserve of Pianelle Forest

(forest is roughly 35min away, cost of transportation not included)

Enjoy a 2-hr hike in the wild protected forest outside Martina Franca.

Visit & Shopping to the famous District of Ceramics in Grottaglie

(about 3 hours total, cost of transportation not included)

Ceramicists have set up their studios and kilns in natural caves in Grottaglie. Tour a factory and learn about the ceramic making process, then wander through the shops displaying different artists work.

Lecce - Bauxite caves - Otranto on the Ionic seaside.

A full-day tour to visit Lecce "the Florence of the South", then to the wonderful Bauxite caves, followed by Otranto, one of the most famous towns in Salento.
